DESCRIPTION
Product description Founded in Massachusetts in 1837, Lamson is the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the U.S., synonymous with American craftsmanship. In 1869, President Ulysses S. Grant received a 62-piece Lamson dinner set, with pieces still displayed at the Smithsonian. Today, our artisans handcraft premium cutlery, kitchen, and trade tools in western Massachusetts. We’ve endured world events, financial hardships, and a factory relocation, yet our commitment to quality remains unwavering. Blending tradition with innovation, Lamson continues to deliver American-made excellence. Experience craftsmanship rooted in history—experience Lamson. Amazon.com For Asian cuisine, a big, well-balanced cleaver like this one serves nearly all kitchen cutlery needs. The stainless-steel blade, 8 by 3-1/4 inches, slices thinly and evenly, giving a cook control, speed, and uniformity in cutting tasks while providing enough weight for tougher jobs. The round walnut handle, with a brass fitting between it and the blade, fit snugly in the hand. --Fred Brack

Has a loose handle problem over time (I have 2) but I jammed a couple shims in and they are top notch. one is 12 years old and no chips on edge and I work with this. It's a vegetable cleaver, not an all purpose or meat. It's light but full size. Just mean not to chop bones with it. Get a Dexter for that.
