Let me say from the start the digital deadbolt is perfect. Easy to install, took about 25 minutes from the time I removed the existing standard deadbolt to having the digital deadbolt installed and working without any problems. As other reviewers pointed out follow the directions to a tee and you won’t have a problem, don’t skip a single step. What should have been the “easy” part, installing the new door handle, has been a week long battle. I don’t know what the problem is but sometimes it just won’t open. As in you can’t get out of the house, my mother and sister were literally trapped in my house until it occurred to them to go out the back door or through the garage. I thought I was going to have to call a locksmith but when I came home I had no problem. My mother and sister felt like absolute morons. They thought the ability to open a door was a skill they lost somehow. After making fun of them for 2 days about how simply opening the front door was apparently a lost art for some people and that the next time they came over I’d make sure an expert in turning a door knob was available if no one was home. All the sudden it wasn’t so funny when I couldn’t open the door when I was heading out to work. It works randomly, no rhyme or reason that I can tell. Yesterday I didn’t close it all the way because I was bringing groceries in and didn’t want to risk it not opening (why yes, I am too lazy to push the garage door opener…) so after the groceries are in the house I shut the door and of course it works. Couple hours later my neighbor is frantically posting on Nextdoor that her 100% indoor cat has escaped, I could hear her calling for the cat while her husband was driving around looking for it. Being the good neighbor I am I go help with the search party, sadly little Fluffy was nowhere to be found. UNTIL I WENT INTO MY BEDROOM. There’s little Fluffy sleeping on my bed, I jumped halfway to the ceiling, it picks it’s head up, looks at me, licks it’s paw as if saying “Yeah, if you didn’t want me in your house maybe you should have kept your door shut” then goes back to sleep. Are you effing serious neighbor cat? Not only did I waste an hour looking for it I’m highly allergic to cats, I picked it up brought it back to it’s relieved owners. I came home with hives and eyes watering. Bonus - got to change the sheets before I could get in my own bed, the intruder left a parting gift if cat hair. The moral of the story? It doesn’t matter how well the digital deadbolt works if the run of the mill door handle doesn’t.Just to be clear the digital deadbolt gets 5 Stars on all counts, my rating is solely based on the handle. I’m going to try and reinstall it and see if I have better luck.Great product but is sensitive to battery type. Must Alkaline only. Not the blended type batteries. We haven’t installed yet. But at first look. It’s great quality. Looks and feels very sturdy.Very satisfied with everything but should warn you, sometimes pressing buttons it doesn't take. if you don't here the beep after pressing button you simply need to press it again. Very strong locking power, my fancier brand I am replacing was not as strong and sometimes would fail to lock. for less than half the price, I'll deal with the double pressing of code button!I was unsure at first. Slightly different than I expected. But it worked out ok. The first one failed when I installed the batteries. There must have been an internal defect. But the vendor and Amazon shipped us a new one no questions asked. I alway buy from Amazon and would buy from this vendor again as well.Bought 4 1 is on a door that may or may not lock with keypad might have to use key. One wouldn’t unlock at all even with key then key got stuck and they broke off in it. One seems ok. The other on a door we haven’t used yet. Would not recommend at allPoor durable quality. It’s been almost one year since I installed this lock set and when new it worked as expected. After a couple months I noticed that that the deadbolt wouldn’t retract completely and stuck out about 1/16 of an inch. Ultimately that grew to a about 1/4 inch when I was forced to replace the lock around 6 months later because it wouldn’t allow entry into the house. I left the handle installed and it suffered the same fate by not retracting all the way by pressing the lever on the outside to open the door. The turn knob opened fine on the inside. I replaced it after 11 months. If you install this set on a door you don’t use very often it may be ok but if you use it daily by multiple people or a large family you may have problems. The longer handle is not lockingI love the look of this door handle and the keypad part works fine. But the mechanism in the handle broke immediately. I contacted the company and they have never contacted me back. So the keypad works, but my door will not latch shut so I always have to turn the deadbolt to keep the door closed. It is very annoying. If the company had of contacted me and replace the broken part I would give this a higher rating. The item arrived fast. Installation took me about an hour and a half. Its similar to other door handles I’ve installed before. The interior knob; you’ll need about 5 hands. But can be done with 2. You’ll need to twist the handle and push the button in hard, then pull the knob out apart from its base. The keypad; the code programming instructions say to use setting 2. But when i used setting 2 the locking mechanism became backwards. The lock button would unlock and the code+unlock would lock. So my code was useless and anyone could unlock my door. I looked up some of the reviews and found that Ginger said to switch to Setting 1. I tried and it works now! On setting 1 the lock button locks and the code+unlock button unlocks. The handle quality is nice. Hopefully it lasts through the wear and tear.Screws touch the knob, and can’t pass them through to install them. Gave it up at the end. Also no auto lock option after 30 seconds, be aware!I installed the handle, and 1 day later the unlock feature of the keypad would not work. I ended up having to buy another one at a local hardware store, then I realized also, that the quality was a lot different, yes i did pay about 100$ more for a good brand, but I do not regret spending the extra money once I've seen the difference. I would not recommand this product.bought two, had a issue with one , company replaced it very quick and love them both
